MC-12 has a swellable polymer chemistry which been carefully adjusted to resist water, exploiting the technical superiority of swellable polymer chemistry and rejecting the less expensive, dubious “quick-fix” ceramic based coatings so often touted to be both waterproof and instant/quick/fast dry yet which can also render significant negative consequences due to absorption of migrant airborne gasses. This polyblend canvas has excellent water resistance coupled with a matte surface which produces exceptional resolution and highly defined image articulation. It’s white surface produces very little reflection. Works well with various reputable waterborne laminates, obviating solvent fumes and hazards when sealing for archival applications.

Inks:
Combined with pigmented inks, the water resistant inkjet coating provides for excellent longevity of printed images, and maintains a high degree of ultraviolet resistance. Dye based inks, while maintaining excellent vibrancy, show a slightly lower ultraviolet resistance. Using a custom a Booksmart Stuido icc profile for this paper is highly recommended for the most accurate color.
